In a recent interview, former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said that Lakers fans should be worried about the Clippers. He added that there are 29 other teams they have to beat to win a championship.
Steve Ballmer, former CEO of Microsoft and current owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, made a comment to a group of Lakers fans. When asked if he was worried about the Clippers being so successful, he responded with there are 29 other teams you have to beat to win a championship… but you must be pretty worried about us.

Kawhi Leonard and Paul George both joined the Los Angeles Clippers for the 2019 season. To do so, Kawhi Leonard signed a free agent contract with the Toronto Raptors, while Paul George was acquired in a blockbuster deal.
Many people predicted that they would be a future championship team shortly thereafter, but the club has yet to accomplish that objective. While they are not currently a championship candidate, when they are completely fit, they will be a serious contender. There was a time when Stephen A. Smith thought the Clippers were better than the Lakers.
The Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers have long had a rivalry simply because they are both based in the same city. There is clearly some enmity between both fanbases, and there are fans from both series that enjoy clowning on one other. However, since Lakers supporters outnumber Clippers fans in the city, the Clippers franchise receives more mocking.
Steve Ballmer remarked on the Los Angeles Lakers supporters who despise the Los Angeles Clippers in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. Laker supporters must be “very concerned” about the Clippers, he said, since they’ve “become really good.” It’s worth mentioning that the Los Angeles Clippers had a rather good season, reaching the Western Conference Finals. For a portion of their run, they were also without Kawhi Leonard, who was sidelined with an injury.
“Why did so many people in the town boo us? It comes to the point where… for a long time, the Clippers were nothing, so no one had to pay attention, and there was no danger to those who had been Lakers supporters for a long time.
We’ve become quite good at it now. We’re actually serious, as you can see; we’re not the old screwed-up franchise in town; we’re getting our act together, and I believe that because we’re getting our act together, it makes people say things like, ‘C’mon, you can’t get your act together; it’s just my team, my team is the only one that matters.’
I’ve been shocked by anti-Lakers sentiment, and my response has been something along the lines of, “Why don’t you have more faith in your guys?” You still have to defeat 29 other teams to win the title, but you must be concerned about us. The Lakers are a fantastic corporation and a fantastic franchise, but you must be concerned about us, Laker fans.
There’s little doubt that the Clippers have been more competitive in recent memory, and they’ll get much more respect if they win a title. Despite the fact that the Lakers are the more established and successful club, the Clippers have a sizable following in Los Angeles. It would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for them to win the franchise’s first title.
Kawhi Leonard is expected to make a complete recovery from his injury next season, but his absence will undoubtedly be lengthy. It’s too early to tell whether the Los Angeles Clippers will be able to win a championship in the future years, but they have the ability to do so.
