The Eagles are well known for having a lot of talented players that are unhappy with the team, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t still talented. While not among the elite players in the league, the Eagles have a few players that are still solid contributors. One player that could be on the move is wide receiver Zach Ertz, who the Eagles are reportedly shopping. Although he hasn’t had a breakout season, Ertz is still a good player, and could find a good home in the NFC.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Zach Ertz was a very popular pick to sign with the New England Patriots , but the Pats missed out on their top target because he got a contract offer that he felt was too low. According to his agent, Ertz made the offer to the Patriots, but they declined. There are multiple reports that Ertz is upset at the team’s unwillingness to give him the big contract he wanted.
It’s no secret that the Philadelphia Eagles are in the process of trading their star tight end, Zach Ertz.
Zach Ertz is still a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, which is a bit of a shock to anybody who has followed the club in recent months.
Since last year’s offseason, Ertz has been linked to trade speculations. To this time, however, no decision has been made. During training camp and the preseason, Ertz has been quite active. He’s expected to be on the Eagles’ roster in Week 1.
With that said, in the NFL, anything can happen in a matter of seconds.

Ertz demanded a new contract deal before the 2020 season began. Howie Roseman, the Eagles’ general manager, failed to meet this requirement. Ertz reluctantly stayed in Philadelphia for the full season, but not without controversy and consternation.
With just 335 receiving yards, Ertz had his lowest season in the NFL to date. Around the trade deadline, there were a lot of trade speculations about the star tight end’s availability. During the offseason, Ertz was linked to a number of clubs, including Buffalo, Indianapolis, and Green Bay, but the whispers did not go down.
Obviously, none of those reports materialized, but it doesn’t rule out the idea of Ertz being dealt before Week 1. The Eagles have a younger tight end in Dallas Goedert, whom they want to develop, and it’s safe to conclude that Ertz and the Philadelphia front office are still at odds. Ertz is a good buddy of Carson Wentz, apart from his unsuccessful contract discussions.
Ertz was probably not pleased to see his friend benched, traded, and then slammed by the city of Philadelphia.
Roseman has been certain that Ertz will play for the Eagles this season, but as previously mentioned, things in the NFL may change in a matter of seconds. Thus comes the Minnesota Vikings, who are in desperate need of a tight end.
The Vikings are in dire need of tight end assistance.
August 29, 2021 — John McMullen (@JFMcMullen)
Every year, one club suffers devastating injuries at a key position, forcing them to look for desperate trade partners.
This isn’t the first time the Vikings have approached the Eagles for assistance.
Teddy Bridgewater, the Vikings’ main quarterback, suffered a knee injury in 2016, forcing them to make a trade. They sent the Eagles a first-round selection in exchange for Sam Bradford, who had just lost his starting position due to Wentz’s arrival.
In 2021, the Vikings and Eagles may find themselves in a very similar position.
The Vikings have lost tight end Tyler Eifert. They lost Irv Smith and Tyler Conklin to injuries during free agency and are missing Kyle Rudolph. They’re in dire need of TE assistance, and Ertz is still a top-five prospect at the position.
Given Ertz’s expiring contract and dismal 2020 season, Minnesota is unlikely to give anything in terms of value. Even so, a third- or fourth-round selection seems to be a fair return. Roseman’s asking price for Ertz, according to reports, has remained that since 2020. On Philly’s end, the reasoning is also sound.
At the trade deadline, keep an eye on Zach Ertz.
Keep an eye on Ertz before the trade deadline if he isn’t traded before Week 1.
The Eagles’ decision to keep Ertz for the full 2021 season makes little sense. It seems logical to look for a trading partner to help you get some value out of him. Only time will tell if it happens with the Vikings or another club.

Gardner Minshew Faces a Major Mental Challenge After Being Traded to the Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles are making another Super Bowl push, having lost only one game thus far this season. They will likely be a favorite to win the NFC East, and a win in the playoffs would be a wonderful way to cap a near-perfect regular season. But with a healthy Carson Wentz returning from injury and a weakened division, the Eagles could be a serious threat to make a deep run, a possibility that has been mentioned in Philadelphia sports outlets as a possibility that could not be discounted..
