In a surprising move, Britney Spears has requested her father take over her conservatorship. The request comes after the singer’s father filed for bankruptcy in 2011 and was granted sole custody of his daughter.

As her court fight continues, Britney Spears’ lawyer has filed a petition appointing a conservator for her.
If Britney’s plea for her father Jamie to be removed is approved, her lawyer Mathew Rosengart has asked that accountant Jason Rubin become conservator of her estate, according to new court papers.
According to the documents, if the artist has the ability to select her own legal counsel, she also has the capacity to make this nomination.
Since the conservatorship started in 2008, her father has served as her co-conservator.
The singer earlier gained a legal win in the continuing procedures when she was given the option of hiring her own counsel, which she chose Rosengart.
The 39-year-old said that she wants Jamie prosecuted with conservatorship abuse during an emotional and dramatic statement during a hearing in Los Angeles.

The Womanizer singer stunned the globe in June when she revealed details of her conservatorship in court evidence, claiming she was denied permission to remove her IUD in order to have a baby with lover Sam Asghari.
By having the conservatorship lifted after 13 years, the actress hopes to be free of all limitations and reclaim authority over her personal and financial choices.
Britney uploaded a provocative photo to her Instagram account on Monday, showing her topless outside with her head thrown back and hands caressing her naked breasts.
In the image caption, she only used three sparkle emojis, a reference to the brilliant spots of light playfully edited onto her nipples.
Britney hopes that the conservatorship will be revoked after 13 years, allowing her to reclaim authority over her personal and financial choices.
The Piece Of Me singer recently shared an Instagram video of herself dancing with delight after driving for the first time in a long time.
What is a conservatorship, and how does it work?
In the United States, a conservatorship is a legal notion that puts someone under the legal protection of an appointed adult.
A court appoints a guardian or protector to oversee many areas of a person’s life, from their financial concerns to their everyday lives.
If a person has physical or mental problems or is deteriorating with age, they are typically appointed a conservator.
A planned conservatorship lasts as long as it is needed and ends when the conservatee is no longer considered in need of one. For example, if a person is unable to care for themselves due to a medical condition, the conservatorship will end once he is treated or recovers sufficiently to care for himself.
A court will also appoint a caseworker for the conservatee if the conservatorship is unplanned.
The caseworker will keep in touch with the conservator to ensure a smooth transition, checking in on everyone involved on a regular basis.
Britney promised to continue speaking out about her predicament, warning that she’s “not even close” to being finished.
‘So I stated “life goes on” in one of my recent posts, but it’s always easier said than done!!!!!’ the singer said on Instagram.
‘At the time, it seemed like the simplest thing to say, but I believe we all know that I won’t be able to let go and completely go on until I’ve spoken what I needed to say… ‘I’m not even close!!!’
‘I’ve been taught to keep quiet about things for a long time, and I now feel like I’m getting there,’ she said.
