LeBron James has been a superstar on the Cleveland Cavaliers since they drafted him in 2003. The four-time MVP is leaving his hometown team to form another superteam, joining Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh with the Miami Heat. What are some of LeBron’s most memorable moments? Let’s take a look at 4 things you should know about LeBron James!

The “where did darius garland go to college” is a question that many people have been asking. The Cleveland Cavaliers Star, Darius Garland, was drafted by the Cavs in the 2019 NBA Draft.

You’ve undoubtedly heard of Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland if you follow the NBA on a regular basis.

With the Cavs, Garland has become an All-Star and is one of the league’s best young players. Unless you follow the NBA regularly or are a huge Cavaliers fan, Garland may seem to have appeared out of nowhere.

So, if you’re unfamiliar with the youthful guard, here are four key facts to get you started.

Darius Garland’s father was an NBA player.

Winston Garland, Darius Garland’s father, was a major player in his own right before becoming a basketball star.

He was dubbed “the best Missouri State men’s basketball player ever” by the Springfield News-Leader. Winston led his collegiate team to the NIT quarterfinals in 1986 and the NCAA Tournament second round in 1987.

He scored 16.5 points per game as a junior and 21.2 points per game as a senior. In the second round of the 1987 NBA Draft, the Milwaukee Bucks picked the older Garland. He spent more than two seasons with the Golden State Warriors, averaging 14.5 points per game in 1988-89. Winston later played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, and Minnesota Timberwolves, among other teams.

Winston was a member of the Nuggets in 1991-92, and Bernie Bickerstaff, the father of current Cavs coach J.B. Bickerstaff, was an executive on that squad.

Darius only appeared in five games throughout his collegiate career.

Darius Garland did not go to Missouri State like his father. He was a five-star talent at Tennessee’s Brentwood Academy and a Vanderbilt University pledge.

Garland, however, was restricted to just four complete collegiate games (five overall) due to a meniscus injury, in which he averaged 19.8 points on 52.8 percent shooting and 47.8 percent from long range. In a victory against Liberty, he even scored 33 points.

Garland declared for the 2019 NBA Draft despite a lack of playing experience at the college level. He was subsequently taken with the fifth overall selection by the Cavaliers.

During his debut season, he struggled.

Garland may be a superstar today, but he battled in the NBA when he first arrived. He was unable to participate in Summer League due to a knee ailment. So, despite coming off an injury, he went from playing just five games in the NCAA to competing at the top level in the NBA.

Garland’s numbers indicated his difficulties. During his first 31 games, he averaged only 11.1 points on a dismal 38.8% shooting clip. His performance improved as the season progressed, but his final stats were still lacking. He averaged 12.3 points and 3.9 assists per game while shooting only 40.1 percent from the field.

Since then, the Gary, Indiana native has proven his detractors wrong.

In his third NBA season, Darius Garland was named an All-Star.

Garland rebounded in 2020-21, averaging 17.4 points and 6.1 assists per game. But it was the 2021-22 season that marked the start of his professional career.

On 46.2 percent shooting, DG led a resurgent Cavs team with 21.7 points and 8.6 assists. He got his first All-Star selection after being the youngest player in NBA history to average at least 25.0 points and 12.0 assists during a 10-game run.

Darius Garland only played five games in college. And, yeah, he struggled to get going with the Cavs straight away. However, he has now risen to prominence and has the potential to lead Cleveland to long-term success.
